''Service Design is the activity of planning and organizing people, infrastructure, communication and material components of a service, in order to improve its quality, the interaction between service provider and customers and the customer's experience. For example, a restaurant may choose to have a Service Design agency change the way its menu is set out, or change the layout of the restaurant to improve the customer's experience''. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Service_designDon't worry, Service Systems Design is in fact as boring as it sounds. If you go to the images page of this subject on Google, you are faced with a sea of morbidly grey 'flow charts' and 'efficiency diagrams'.
Not overly inspired to read reams and reams of black and white text on this, but I understand the concept......phew! By researching this, I was inspired to extend my research to 'Design thinking'; hopefully I will be in for a treat.
